Context
In light graffiti I think all of the colour's are outstanding. The wonderful, colourful lights are very bright and I find them really interesting. Buzzing with the excitement and the natural pieces of art. Light painting photographer Michael Bosanko has been capturing light since 2004. He discovered light painting on accident, Michael says this of his moment of discovery, “the moon formed part of the scene, but the camera shake caused the moon to make a streak. My curious mind clipped the camera from the tripod and, hand held, I attempted to “write” my partner’s name using nothing but the moonshine and the movement of the camera in my hand, and I had success. As soon as I returned home, I adopted the same principles but with torches, and I’ve been hooked ever since.” Ever since that moment Michael has had great success with light painting photography, he has created images for several commercial clients and been published in numerous magazines.
Analysis
What can I see?
We can see a lot of colours, he uses lights for example torches and spot lights. He dances around with the lights to make patterns and pictures. I would describe this to someone as colourful, there done in the dark, he uses several lights at a time, he spins them in all different directions and he doesn’t use the same colours for each picture. I can see an amazing shape of lights and it looks like the street lights have been redesigned. I can see a different design of separate objects.
In the centre I can see a object with the light coming out of it. To the left of the photo I can see the end of the lights and where they leave the picture. To the right of the I can see the shiny object that has been lit up from the lighting. On the bottom of the photo I can see part of the dark background of the photo. At the top of the photo I can see the top half of the dark background. The foreground of the photo is the different colour lights that make the object shiny. The middle-ground of the photo is the object that has been lit up by the lights. The background of the photo is dark so that the lights shine.
Feelings and Moods?
It reminds me of the London eye/spinning plate because his big pictures go round, the pictures are bright and colourful. I feel intrigued and excited by all the colours and patterns he makes. I think the work is really magical because he is making all of the shapes by himself. The pictures are the best pictures made with lots of lights and it is really colourful.
Give your opinions on the-JUSTIFY your REASONS
I think the work is really good and I found the colours really interesting because it is a really good idea to try it yourself. It is some of the best work ever made. The lights on the photos make the photos look like the lights are in different shapes. i think that the photos have an outstanding shine and shapes of lights.
Composition
This is the best work I have ever done. When I first done this I thought that this will not be as good as this. The focal point of the photo is the lights making the object shine and stand out. The photo is asymmetrical because it is not the same on both sides. The first place that my eye looks at is the lights shining off of the the object. The second place that my eye looks at is the object shining from the glorious lights. The third place that my eye looks at is the dark background that looks like a night sky.
Colour and Mood
I think that the colours of this photo are really good because they are contrasting and they are bright. I think that the bright lights have a really good effect. The mood of this photo is really happy because the lights are like a different colour sun. the dominate colour for this photo is white because the white lines are all over and behind the van. I think the artist used this colour of light because he used a dark background.
All of the colours I used are:
Rosey Red
Empty White
Glorious Blue
These are the best colours I used.
Light and Tone
All of the lights I used are a light tone because they are very bright. The light is coming from the the left hand side of the photo. The highlights of the photo is the different shades and shape of the sun shining lights. The mid tone of the photo is th object that is being lit up by the fantastically looking lights. The dark shadows of the photo is the dark background where the amazing photo takes place. This photo does add weight and depth because the lights are like looking into someones eyes. The light and tone adds a perfect mood to the photo.
Texture and pattern
The pattern I used is swells because they are twisty. The photo looks very soft because the lights make the photo look like the sun shining in different colours over the object. This artist used different shapes and it makes it more attractive. I think that this is one of the best photos.
What have I learnt and how will I use what I have learnt?
I will recap what I have done in my book.
I learnt how to do photos with different lights.
I learnt how to do developments like Michael Bosanko.
